Automations are a series of steps triggered automatically within Tall Emu CRM. They help streamline processes, enhance efficiency, and ensure consistency across your tasks.

Trigger Types

Automations are initiated by specific triggers, including:

  • Record Created: Activates when a new record is added (e.g., a new lead).

  • Record Updated: Triggers when an existing record is modified (e.g., an updated quote).

  • Record Created or Updated: Fires when a record is either created or updated.

  • Record Deleted: Initiates when a record is deleted (use is limited).

  • Scheduled Trigger: Runs at a set time (e.g., daily or weekly).

  • Webform Submission: Triggers when a webform is submitted (e.g., a contact request).

Common Automation Actions

Once triggered, automations can perform the following actions:

  1. Send Email: Automatically sends emails to users, teams, or contacts. Customise templates, recipients, and content based on workflow needs.
  2. Send SMS: Triggers SMS messages to users or contacts based on actions.
  3. If: Creates decision points in workflows (e.g., if the quote value is over a set amount).
  4. Wait: Pauses a workflow for a specified time, until a particular day, or based on a record field (e.g., wait until a business day).
  5. Assign: Automatically assigns records to a user or team, either by specific assignment or in a round-robin manner.
  6. Create Record: Generates a new record (e.g., task, note, quote) in your CRM based on workflow triggers.
  7. Update Record: Modifies fields in existing records, either directly or in linked records (e.g., update status or add a note).

Example Use Case

  • Trigger: Quote is accepted.

  • Actions:

  1. Update the customer’s lifecycle stage to “Customer.”
  2. Create a note on the customer account.
  3. Send an email to the credit manager.
  4. Update the quote status to “Accepted.”
  5. Send an email to the opportunity owner.
